1. Who we are

Tuition Torch (“we”, “us”) provides an AI-assisted university admissions strategy platform. This policy explains what personal information we collect when you use our website and product, why we collect it, and the choices you have.

2. Information we collect

  • Account data, name, email, authentication identifiers (via Clerk).
  • Profile data you provide, academic background, extracurriculars, target universities, target major, grade level, country, and any documents you upload.
  • Generated analysis data, readiness scores, strategist briefs, and recommendations our system produces from your inputs.
  • Billing data, handled by Lemon Squeezy; we receive subscription status but not card details.
  • Usage data, pages visited, features used, error logs.

3. How we use your information

  • To produce your personalised admissions analysis.
  • To improve our scoring, matching, and recommendation systems.
  • To send you account, billing, and (if you opt in) deadline notifications.
  • To detect fraud, abuse, and to enforce our Terms.

4. Sharing

We share information only with the processors required to run the service: Clerk (authentication), Supabase (storage), Lemon Squeezy (payments), Upstash (rate-limiting and queues), and our AI providers (Google Gemini, and optionally Groq or OpenRouter) to process the prompts your analyses require. We do not sell personal data.

5. AI processing

Your free-text inputs and uploaded documents are sent to AI providers to generate your analysis. These providers process the data on our behalf; we do not allow them to train their public models on your data when their APIs offer that setting.

6. Data retention

We keep your profile, analyses, and documents for as long as your account is active. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support, see Contact below.

7. Your rights

Depending on where you live (e.g. EU/UK under GDPR, California under CCPA), you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data, and to object to certain processing. Contact us to exercise these rights.

8. Children

Tuition Torch is built for prospective university applicants. If you are under 16, you must use the service with a parent or guardian. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13.

9. Security

We use industry-standard safeguards (encrypted transport, row-level security in our database, secret rotation, rate limiting). No system is perfectly secure, please report any suspected vulnerability to us privately.
